Some paintings take 30 minutes, some take two years. This painting ( It actually consists of two panels, this being the left half ) has been in the works for eight months. I got the under-painting done very quickly, but then hit a wall. Over the months I have probably painted it a hundred times in my head, never really inspired to grab a brush and go for it. But out of nowhere the muses struck, the clouds parted and I was able to move on it.
I have a few paintings in this stage around the studio,( Gregg you know this! ) and its always good to start moving on them again !
